Ronaldinho Looses Coke Endorsement For Drinking Pepsi

ronaldinho pepsi 136114628Coca-Cola cancels Ronaldinho sponsorship after he appears at press conference with Pepsi cans. This is a real war of the endorsement and branding saga of popular sportsmen/women.

Shortly after leaving Flamengo Football Club in Brazil due to unpaid wages, Ronaldinho was found to breach endorsement contracts signed with Coca-Cola. This is a whopping $737,400 a year deal that was to run through the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Where did this gentle sportsman go wrong?
He appeared at a press conference with Cans of Pepsi on the table, right under his nose. This ended his lucrative sponsorship deal less than a year after it was signed. Incidentally, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Pepsi is the sponsor of his new club Atletico Mineiro, so the appearance of Pepsi product's at the club's official press conferences is definitely not by Ronaldinho's choice.
