IMO State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, yesterday warned that he would not hesitate to sack any member of the State Executive Council that fell short of expectation.
Okorocha, who read the riot act while swearing-in the new
commissioners, also said his administration was in a hurry to deliver
dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
“We are in a rescue mission. There is no room for procrastination. Your
personal interest should not overshadow the collective interest of Imo
people”, Okorocha warned.
While reminding the new commissioners that there was no room for
corruption and laziness in the administration, the Governor declared
that “any public office holder found wanting in this regard will be
shown the way out.”
It was the considered opinion of the Governor that the new appointees
should make the best of the opportunity as they may not get the chance
again.
It will be recalled that Mr. Chinedu Offor, Lady Ugochi Nnanna Okoro
and Mr. Uche Mbanaso were assigned to the Ministries of Information and
Strategy, Culture and Tourism and Commerce and Industries respectively.
The rest are Emma Ekweremba, Petroleum and Energy , Professor Chima Iwuchukwu, Public Utilities and Rural Development and Dr. Charles Onuoha, Housing.
