Report: CNN Lifts Roland Martin's Suspension
Roland Martin (CNN)
CNN staff was alerted today on the 10 a.m. conference call that Roland Martin's suspension has been lifted, Fishbowl D.C. reports:
Martin, who hosts “Washington Watch” and is a CNN Contributor, was suspended shortly after Super Bowl Sunday when he wrote tweets that were construed by some to be homophobic. He apologized, but CNN held fast to the suspension until today.
Martin was widely criticized for promoting homophobia and violence against gays when, during the Super Bowl, he tweeted comments such as that people should "smack the ish out" of male fans of a Super Bowl commercial starring David Beckham, and that "real bruhs" would not purchase underwear advertised by the soccer player.
