Toledo police continue to investigate reports of a home invasion on Bricker Avenue in North Toledo.
A Special Weapons and Tactics team forced its way into the dwelling
shortly before 3 p.m. today where they found one person dead.
Police received the call of a person with a weapon in the house
earlier in the afternoon. Sgt. Joe Heffernan, the Toledo Police
Department’s spokesman, said he could not confirm that shots had been
fired.
Neighbors reported seeing a woman flee the house at the time the home
invasion was reported. Later, a second person fled the location, but it
was unknown if that person was the house’s other known occupant or
somebody else.
After that, a man came out of the house and stole a white 1996
Pontiac Grand Prix that was parked nearby. Police are looking for that
car, Sergeant Heffernan said.
